The main building at Yalumba, a State Heritage Place, is the headquarters for the oldest family owned winery in Australia.

A master plan and facilities plan were prepared for the change of use of the building largely from warehouse and wine storage to staff and public facilities. Following the preparation of these plans designs were developed and extensive internal renovations were completed in 2009.

These include conversion of underground wine tanks into wine tasting and dining facilities, the installation of a commercial kitchen, renovation of the Signature Cellar, significant renovation of existing office accommodation and the creation of new office areas, staff training and conference facilities.

The new facilities provide staff amenities and a gathering place for the entire 360 staff based at Angaston.
