Following on from our recently completed major expansion and new girls’ campus, GGA is continuing the growth of Roma Mitchell Secondary College. The centrepiece of this stage of the redevelopment is a new two-storey school building containing a two-court gymnasium, canteen, café, staff facilities, student change rooms and six general learning areas (GLAs).
The new gymnasium will offer students access to a variety of sports including international level basketball, volleyball and badminton as well as local-level futsal and undersized netball. The nominated location for the new building enables the utilisation of the existing site infrastructure and allows access from the street, oval, co-ed campus and girls’ campus.
Fulfilling the school’s aspiration of community connection and lifelong wellbeing, the new facilities enable links with the neighbouring Football SA Home of Football, and a venue for after-school programs and external providers such as coaching, physio and nutrition. The configuration of changeroom facilities accessible from the oval enables the use by outdoor sports programs such as athletics, football and soccer.
