On completion of the New Bathroom Facilities situated on level 1 Hilton Adelaide Hotel, Grieve Gillett Architects and Hilton’s preferred building contractor Mossop were engaged to collaboratively develop concepts for upgrade works to a variety of small interior upgrade projects positioned on level 1 and 2 of the Hilton Hotel.
Level 1 Coffee Station Facilities
The Coffee Station brief was to provide the existing Hilton level 1 Meeting Rooms a permanent tea/ coffee servery space. This station caters for the meeting and function clientele for tea/coffee or either self-serve hot meals during break periods. Grieve Gillett Architects designed and detailed a solution that responds well within the existing interior design mix of materials and colours used on this level of the hotel. Silestone composite Calacutta Gold stone was selected for the bench and splashbacks for its heat resistant properties due to the inclusion of under bench induction warmers for the serving of hot food. Natural Oak ravine timber laminate was an obvious choice for providing warmth to the cabinetry. The design and layout of this station was to house a mix of self-serving cupboards and drawers for glass and crockery.
Refurbishment of Level 1 Existing Business Centre and Meeting/Function Rooms
Adjacent the new Coffee Station Facilities Grieve Gillett Architects was engaged to provide a refurbishment to the existing business centre space with the inclusion of a new Corian business desk and upgrade of existing cabinetry. Other scope of works included new lighting, joinery repairs and new fabric selections for built-in seating. New furniture was also selected for this space – locally made AG side tables from the Jam Factory and Billiani Doll chairs. Refurb works were also included in the surrounding existing meeting rooms. This work included new wallpaper, joinery repairs, new blinds and paintwork.
New Level 2 Boardroom
With the completion of the Grieve Gillett Architects external Gym Pavilion on the level 2 eastern terrace podium. The original level 2 gym area was now vacant for refit of a new conference room and meeting space. The brief was to convert the room into a dual-purpose space with a conference table, whiteboard wall and TV facilities for corporate meetings and a less formal breakout area for a more relaxed meeting environment. The materials used within the space include perforated acoustic plywood wall panelling with mirrored sections to maximise the disbursement of natural light throughout the space. Furniture selections include locally made AG side tables from the Jam Factory and Australian made Mo Chairs and Lounges.
