Grieve Gillett Architects has provided in kind design services to assist Tutti Arts and allied organisation to develop a business case for a new arts centre facility located at Minda SA.
Tutti is a multi-arts organisation supporting the work of artists with a disability which enables individuals and collectives to negotiate, build networks, encourage resilience and develop their craft. The facility includes spaces for all artistic disciplines from painting and drawing to music, film making and performance arts. The facility will also provide spaces for offices and administration, including informal break out areas and a roof terrace.
In addition to the Tutti Arts program, the facility will provide spaces for commercial enterprises that aim to provide employment for the disability sector. The Tutti Arts facility aspires to become a vital piece for infrastructure not only for the disability sector in SA & Australia, but for the south-western suburbs, local schools and not-for-profit organisations.
We produced a range of design options in order to facilitate discussions within the organisation to determine an outcome that would be the most beneficial to all stakeholders. A major aim of the project is to collaborate with the artists at Tutti in key areas of the design and identity of the building façade and interiors.
Grieve Gillett Architects takes great pride in our partnership with Tutti Arts and look forward to assisting the entire Tutti community to achieve a successful outcome.

PROJECT TEAM

"The Centre will be a hub for Tutti’s activities, supporting outreach programs throughout South Australia, and providing a research, education and training focus for visiting artists. GGA’s building design incorporates quiet zones for participants and staff, as well as areas for arts industry tenants, and is capped with a rooftop garden. The engaging building façade incorporates panels based on designs by Tutti’s artists and provides a welcoming invitation to the community. From our initial ideas, GGA has created a Tutti Arts Centre that makes a bold statement about who we are and what we do.
The team at Grieve Gillett Architects has worked collaboratively with us throughout the initial phases of the project, resulting in a stunning design that exceeds our expectations. GGA has also assisted in the production of illustrative drawings that we can present to government and potential funders of this Centre."
