Anchored into the base of the hills, this coastal retreat provides a relaxed and comfortable environment for gatherings of family and friends only metres from the beach.

The house is an expression of the owners’ design ethos and lifestyle.  Its uncomplicated, yet welcoming form and interiors reflect the easy, relaxed lifestyle enjoyed by occupants away from busy city life.

A central core houses the shared generous living spaces with family bedroom wings located either side, affording privacy while still being able to enjoy the magnificent coastal views from expansive decks towards the beach.

The outer masonry envelope draws on the natural colour palette of the surrounding landscape and creates a ‘cave-like’ shelter from the extreme and abrasive coastal conditions.

"We are very pleased with the design – it perfectly responds to our brief and delivers the easy coastal lifestyle we were seeking." - Client's Statement
